10/26/10 - 10/28/10

Uh oh. I'm starting to slack if I'm having to update 3 days Lol

10/26/10

Tuesday was a normal, run of the mill day. Native American Studies was cancelled, so I only had lab..which sucked haha. But I did my laundry so at least that's taken care off, for a little while anyway.

10/27/10

Ahh Wednesdays. I had an exam on Wednesday in Weather and Climate. I think it went pretty well for the most part, but I'm not sure about some parts, so we'll just have to wait and see. Then I had Mass Comm which was boring, as always.

10/28/10

I only had one class today, as always, Native American Studies. I have a paper due Tuesday so I'll be working on that this weekend. Yippee! But enough about that, let's get to the fun stuff.

So I'm sitting in my room and I hear police sirens. I run to my window like a gazelle, hopping over beds and whatnot to get to my window. Just as I do, I see two police cars pull up, then a third! The officers jump out of their car and run over to woman holding a small child. The officers take the small child from the woman and walk toward a white minivan. As other officers arrive (numbering at least 6 at this point) they begin to get people to get out of the van so they can talk to them and diffuse the situation (they were Mexicans, so there were like 12 people in the van) At this point, I am realizing that I need to be closer to the action. I grab my keys and head downstairs. As I walk out of the building, I hear people screaming and cursing, and then, behind the bushes along the sidewalk separating the building from the courtyard where all of the action was taking place, there are at least 15 people crouched down by the bike racks trying to listen but not be seen. I stopped for a moment, then continued to my car, which was about 7 or 8 cars down from the van so I could get a better view. Then I walked back toward the buildings where 2 girls were watching, so I stopped and chatted for about 30 mins with them. Then my suitemate Alex came outside, so I chatted with him and his buddy for about another 20 mins before coming back inside because at this point, the action had pretty much stopped. But it was fun while it lasted! I have pictures!

Pretty lights :)

Okay, that's it for the last couple of days! Goodnight!

10/24/10 & 10/25/10

10/24/10 - Sunday

I attempted to pull an all-nighter with Hailey on skype Saturday night because she didn't think I could stay up later than her, which I didn't (I fell asleep at about 530am) so I slept til about noon on Sunday. Then I watched the Falcons play (yay they won!) and that was the extent of my Sunday haha.

10/25/10 - Monday

Ahhh Mondays :)

I had an exam this morning in Severe & Unusual Weather. I think it went pretty well, but not really sure yet. It was not as easy as the first exam we had in there, though. I also have an exam in Weather & Climate on Wednesday, so that's fun :P

Then I had Mass Communication, which consisted of a lecture on video games, so at least it was something  recent and interesting Lol.

I got an email today that Native American Studies is cancelled for in the morning, so that's nice! I don't have a class until lab tomorrow night @ 630. Unfortunately, I have a quiz in there, even though we were supposed to take it last week, but my lab professor never showed up to class. Turns out she was sick and slept through her alarm (can't blame her, I've done that a lot) haha.

So now I'm heading to bed. TTYL!

10/22/10 & 10/23/10

I'm a little frustrated right now because we just lost to Missouri, but moving on.

10/22/10

Friday wasn't really exciting. We had some storms in the morning. A little lightning and thunder, but nothing too major. We didn't get any hail, even though there was a warning for hail & gusty winds. After class got out, I didn't really do anything lol. Then we were supposed to have severe storms in the afternoon, and then we ended up having absolutely nothing.

10/23/10

So I slept in really late today haha. I didn't get up until noon. I was preparing for the Oklahoma vs. Missouri game that just ended. Unfortunately, we lost to Missouri. Even though we only lost 36-27, we were totally dominated. I'm surprised we even scored 27 points. With all of the unbeaten teams, it's not likely that we will be able to hang in there to be considered for the BCS Bowl. But we will just have to see.  Oh well, I still love my Sooners! This makes us 6-1, 2-1 in the Big XII. The game ended over 30 mins ago and the guys on my hall are still screaming expletives and slamming things Lol.

I think being ranked #1 is a curse because this is the 3rd week in a row that the #1 ranked team lost. First, Alabama, then Ohio State, now Oklahoma. Missouri better not throw this season away. I hope they go to the National Championship and win. That way, our loss will be justified haha.

I'm getting ready for bed now, so goodnight :)

Now let's just hope the Falcons win tomorrow :)

10/20/10 & 10/21/10

10/20/10

Pretty run-of-the-mill day. Nothing too exciting. We actually didn't end up having a quiz in Mass Communication, which I was so sure we were going to haha. But that's cool. We have an exam coming up at some point in the next two weeks but we're off our schedule so we don't know when yet.

10/21/10

Thursday :) Only had one class today, no big deal. I have another writing assignment due November 2 that I have to start working on. This one is about Native American artwork on campus. Shouldn't be too difficult, it's just a nuisance.

I went to Homeland (my grocery store) and got a money order for $50 and mailed my first payment for my speeding ticket. $50 down, $191.50 to go :( haha.

They're forecasting storms starting tonight after midnight (which is ...now) and all through tomorrow, with some having the chance of going severe, so I'm happy :)

Saturday they're having a football watch party in Couch Cafeteria for the OU vs. Mizzou game, so I plan on popping in there because it's free and there will be snacks available :D

As for now, I'm headed to bed because I have class in 9 hours :P

That's it for the last two days...nothing very exciting haha.

Look who came for a visit! I got this in a package from Casey haha.

10/19/10

OMG EARTHQUAKE!! Haha

More like small 2.8 magnitude aftershock..that I had no clue happened (probably because I was immersed in Justin Bieber's book) But I heard about it nonetheless.

I did it! I got up this morning and went and ran! OKAY SERIOUSLY! CONSISTENCY! I just HAVE to make sure I do it tomorrow. Doing every Tuesday morning is going to get me looking like Jabba the Hutt.
As I finished my morning run this morning, with about .25 mile left, it started to rain so I sprinted back to my building and made it inside right as it started pouring down rain and thundering. Then I get up to my room and turn on the Weather Channel to find we're under a significant weather advisory for strong gusty wind and pea size hail...at 0745. Gotta love Oklahoma :)

Yes, I checked my mail today to find a package from Amazon that Casey had ordered for me. What I didn't realize at first was that it was the Justin Bieber book! As I was opening the package (in my car, in the parking lot at Dillard's) I immediately said to myself "This is the Bieber Book!" and it was! So I sat there in my car (the small earthquake happened at some point during this) and read the book for a solid hour! Then I realized that I had to read for class and headed back to my dorm, carefully placing the book back in the cardboard sleeve and tucking it under my arm so that nobody could tell a 19 year old male college student was an avid reader of Bieberature. Then I made it up to my room, but I got distracted by the Bieble and finished reading all of it and then after that, I moved on to my reading for class. Haha.

I also had to study for lab tonight because we were supposed to be having a quiz. However, the professor never showed up and after a half hour I gave up. I got in my car and drove to grocery store (where I called the one and only MOM) and then bought some plastic disposable cups (which I dropped all over the floor when I was approaching the register...whoops..but it was okay cause they were packaged together, so no big deal, just a little embarrassing) and some poptarts and water (wudder).

Now I am about to read another chapter for Mass Communication and be a good student and take an active part in my learning (or some BS like that).

That's all the S. Bessette news and views of the today, 10/19/10!

10/18/10

Just another manic Monday :)

Just kidding, my day was actually very easy going. I only had 2 classes :)

My 3rd class (Intro to Mass Comm) wasn't held so that everyone could catch up on their reading. I didn't do that because I have a paper due in the morning, so I was busy writing that. However, I will use tomorrow afternoon to catch up on my reading, as well as to study for a quiz I have tomorrow night in lab.

The first BCS Standings for the 2010 season were released today and Oklahoma is #1 in the nation! Boomer Sooner! So that's exciting! I wish I had bought tickets to that game instead of the OU vs. OSU tickets that I'm going to have to sell anyway!

I watched RHOA and I have to say that I do NOT!! like Phaedra! I mean, really! 2 racist remarks in one show and you're only on for a total of 5 minutes! I was so offended when she said that white people only eat canned foods and processed meats! Excuse me bitch, but I didn't realize shopping at the grocery store was a "white people" thing! Where the **** is this farm you gettin all ur fresh meat from, Phaedra?! Bitch you aint foolin nobody! Shut ta hell up and go back to lookin ghetto as hell wich yo big ass lips!

Moving on :)

I wrote a paper today about Native American Stereotypical Images for NAS due tomorrow. Pretty easy paper, only 2 pages. I'm just glad I'm done with it. I had been dreading this assignment so I'm just glad it's over and done with.

Now it's time for bed because TOMORROW I AM going back out and running again! I even set two alarms so that I'll get up on time PLUS I am going to bed early tonight (it's not even 10pm)

So on that note, GOODNIGHT ERRBODY!

10/16/10 & 10/17/10

Hi :)

10/16/10

Didn't do much Friday, but I did go to the game Friday night! It was homecoming and it was packed! It was the 72nd consecutive sellout at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, breaking a record for all of NCAA football! There were over 84,500 people there! Until halftime, at least, when 60% left because OU was already up 31-0. We ended up winning 52-0!! Go OU!

10/17/10

Lazy Sunday :)

Didn't do a lot today. We had a floor meeting @ 2 so I went to that. The RA had to come by and do maintenance checks, so after the meeting @ 2 Kurt came by and did a maintenance check. Shortly after, Atlanta lost to Philadelphia (boooo) and then I went downstairs to eat (yayyy!)

I also did my laundry today. Very nice :)

ALSO! The first BCS rankings for the 2010 season were announced earlier and Oklahoma is now #1 in the nation!! Boomer Sooner!!

Right now I am about to finish my meteorology homework :P

That's all for the last two days!

10/15/10

TGIF!!!

Yay it's Friday night!....which means that I'm sitting in my dorm listening to anything Nicki Minaj and eating poptarts (my idea of a college party).

I saw this earlier as a featured video on Youtube. It is heart breaking, but necessary, and I'm glad that he shared his story. The recent suicides, including one last week from a teenager in NORMAN, bother me. When I was in elementary school, I was called gay and a faggot all of the time, however, I have a personality that allows me to tell someone to go **** themselves and laugh about it. Watching this video made me extremely emotional and it's because I can identify (TO SOME DEGREE) with what he's talking about. Now of course suicide never even crossed my mind, I'm too full of myself. I mean, what the hell would the world do without S. Bessette? However, I think it's important to watch this video and understand the pain that a lot of people are being faced with today. I know none of us are in grade school anymore but it still sheds light on why the world needs people who are open and loving and non judgmental, which, although I joke a lot, I like to feel that I am. Be nice to people because you never know what true feelings and emotions they may be dealing with. NO HATE!

                               http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ax96cghOnY4

Okay, I know that was depressing, but I wanted to share it because I think it's important and it moved me.

Moving on, tomorrow is GAME DAY in NORMAN!! GO SOONERS!
I have my ticket to the game (we're playing Iowa State) and let's hope for a Sooners victory! We're still undefeated right now (knock on wood!) and it would be super mega awesome to go to the BCS Championship bowl this year but we will just have to wait and see :)

As for now, I plan on watching TV (looking for movies, I'll have to see if anything is on, if not I will watch one of my movies, maybe Finding Nemo...don't judge! Lol)

That's all for today 10/15/10

Happy Weekend yall!!

                                                 BOOMER SOONER!! GO OU!

10/13/10 & 10/14/10

Oh no! It's been less than 48 hours since I last updated! (I'm looking at you, Casey)

10/13/10

9:06 AM - EARTHQUAKE!

I was in my car waiting on my class at 9:30 to start when suddenly, the car starts rocking back and forth. My first thought is that it's my engine studdering and my whole car was about to blow up. After about 7 seconds, I turned my car off, but it was still rocking back and forth. At this point, I thought it was the wind rocking my car even though when I looked out the windshield, the wind didn't appear strong enough to rock my car so much. "oh well" I said, and I moved on.
It wasn't until I was sitting in class @ 9:30 waiting for it to start did I learn it was an Earthquake from other people in my class! Crazy stuff!
The USGS has rated it at 4.5 but the Oklahoma GS rated it a 5.1. The difference is because the USGS averages out the whole earthquake while the OGS uses the most intense part (which makes more sense to me)

That was all of the excitement for Wednesday

10/14/10

I had a midterm exam today (the only midterm I have) in Native American Studies. I'm not gonna lie, it was HARD. It consisted of a long essay, 5 short essays, multiple choice, and matching.
The long essay counted for 40% of the grade, and the others all made up 20% each.
I think I did OKAY, but not that great. Unfortunately, it is going to take a long time to get my grade back, so I will just have to be patient and hope for the best.

I also got my car cleaned today. There is a really cool place here in town to get it done. You drive through the wash, but people are in there to do hands on cleaning & drying to make sure it looks really good, plus they "de-bug" your car so no dirt or hard to clean bugs, or in my case, extreme amounts of bird droppings (There are so many trees on campus that everyone's car is constantly covered) and the best part is that it's only $5 and takes about 5 minutes, so alas, my car is clean :D

I also watched Modern Family from last night (one of my new fave shows) on Hulu. That show is HILARIOUS! It's hard to pick favorite characters, but the gay couple and Sofia Vergara are definitely the funniest in my opinion.

That's all for today (and Wednesday) 10/13/10 and 10/14/10

                                                                     Home!! I miss it :)

10/12/10

I did it!

I got up this morning and went and ran! I'm so proud of myself for finally doing it after 2 months of putting it off. Now, the trick is making sure I stick with it.

Tomorrow my classes start an hour earlier than they did today so that means instead of starting at 7 AM like I did today, I'm looking at 6 AM tomorrow. In order to be sure I will get my lazy ass out of bed in the morning, I'm headed to bed shortly :)

I printed out my tickets for the OU vs. Iowa State game Saturday, so I'm excited about that! Boomer Sooner!

Also, I'm getting ready to send in my first installment to pay off my speeding ticket that I got on 9/22. I may not like the ticket, but I sure am glad they're letting me break up the payments!!

On Thursday I have my first (and only) midterm!! It's in Native American Studies. The professor makes it seem like it's going to be a difficult exam so I've been preparing for that :P
But the weirdest thing to me is that we're already midway through the semester! Wow, where did the time go?!
I will be home for Thanksgiving before you know it!

Well that's bout it for today, October 12, 2010 :)

This picture is AWESOME! From Cyprus

10/11/10

Wow, what a Monday...

Today started off like any other day. My alarm went off, I snoozed it...it went off again, again, snoozed. Then, I awoke to a "lightness" in my room and I knew that I had slept in, but how late?! I quickly checked my phone "7:59" Hot DAYUM!
I jumped out of bed, rushed into the shower (only because I like to take the first shower because, excuse me, but it is nerrsstyyy to be up in that shower after dey done used it cuz I'm all like "what ta heck is that? a pubie?!"
So after my shower, which lacked and always lacks any sort of water pressure, I asked myself the age old question...do I need to use the restroom? I pondered for a few moments "Nahh, I'm good." and I closed the door, relinquishing the bathroom to my suitmates. About 4 minutes later, this would prove to be a grave mistake.
Errrrooorrrmmmpppppp....my stomach rumbles..."What...the **** was that?" I thought to myself.
Moments later ERRRMMMPPPPPPPPRRRPMMM "Omg, how long has he been in the shower? I'ma need that restroom quick" The situation continued to progress, with every rumble becoming more pronounced and dangerous feeling than the last. "OMG it hurts!" I found myself hunched over, grabbing a pillow for dear life! Grabbing my stomach, I wondered aloud "how much longer can I last?!" The pain was excruitiating, but I had to hold on! Dear God, please! I'll do anything! The shower water continued to run. At this point I'm looking around the room..I spot a Target shopping bag left over from my purchase of Sour Patch Kids and Gummy Bears from the night before (I was storm chasing, leave me alone) They were no doubt the cause of my current predicament, and I loathed them for that. I thought to myself "How...bad? How bad would it be...to.." Finally, I wrapped my head around the idea. "Is it immoral to shit in a Target bag?" I mean, what do I do with it when I'm done? I can't flush it..and I for sure can't wander down the hall with a grocery bag full of vile excrement and merrily proceed to the trash chute..can I? No! No I won't do it!PLEASE GOD! Get out of the shower!!
THE WATER STOPS!
I listen intently through my door, waiting for some sign that my suitemate has finished drying off and exited the bathroom..but wait! My TV is on, muffling the noises! I can't tell! I mute my TV, go back to listening...I hear muffled noises, but are they in the bathroom or did he retire to his room next door? "Steve, man up...open the door, please! I'm begging you, sir! Do you want this shit on your hands?! I mean LITERALLY!"
I BURST OPEN THE DOOR! ALAS, no one! I run to the toilet and promptly do my business
AND SCENE!

So at this point we're up to 8:30 AM on a Monday..this is gonna be some week!

I go to my first class, no excitement, moving on.

SECOND CLASS - APPX 1205PM

I was so effing bored in this class, you have no idea. I was trying to keep my eyes open, like for reals. So, I open up my only true friend, my cell phone. I dabble for a few minutes, look at a couple of new texts and then put it away. About 20 seconds later, I get a text. I look...it's from Clegg..it's a multimedia message. I consider opening it..decide better of it, put my phone away and go back to attempting to pay attention. Ahh, but curiosity got the better of me! I get my phone out, make sure it's on silent and proceed to press the play button on the message..."AND I GOT ONE HAND IN MY POCKET AND THE OTHERS FLIPPIN A CIGARETTE!!!" Alanis Morisette is BLASTING throughout the room. "Son of a bitch!" I mumble to myself as I try to pause it, it wont stop! By now, the entire class has stopped listening to the lecture, the professor is staring right at me! I finally shut my phone off and bury my head because my friend was laughing hysterically..so loud it was obvious, and I was so embarrassed.
After class, we're walking to our cars and she goes "Ya know, that was the best ever..I don't think anything that great will ever happen again..I'm gonna stop coming to class now because what on God's green Earth could EVER beat that? Nothing, that's what!"

After those two events, life continued on as normal for the rest of today..no real excitement.

I totally watched Real Housewives of Atlanta tonight though and I just wanna say that I have a love/hate relationship with Nene, but tonight I loved her! I loved how she talked to her son, it was very emotional! Plus, I love how she handled herself with Dwight and I feel so bad for her! You can tell she's going through a lot with Greg...I hope it works out for her, I love me some Nene.

Tomorrow I am beginning my journey back on the path to losing more weight. I have kept promising myself every day that "tomorrow! I'm gonna do it tomorrow!" and I NEVER do! Well, it's coming up on 2 months that I've been in Oklahoma and I should have lost another 10 lbs by now..instead, I'm GAINING weight! FRESHMAN 15 STAY AWAY! I refuse to lose everything that I have worked so hard for, so starting tomorrow (I'm for real this time, I swear!) I am starting!! Wish me luck!!

It is now 9:50, so I need to head to bed so that I will get up and GO EXERCISE tomorrow! Yay! I know I can stick with this and I'm making promise to myself that when I see y'all, I can be proud of myself!

Okay, that's all for 10/11/10!

Love you guys!!

The Rundown
